Solutions for High-Rise Residences
Large expanses of glass and the incredible views are integral reasons why you love living high in the sky. However, the floor to ceiling windows that afford those views present their own unique challenges. Without protection, you will have little privacy and your heating and air system will struggle to keep up, not to mention the damage UV rays can do to your beautiful finishes. There is only one product purpose-made to address the unique challenges and large scale of such an environment. Roller shades are the ideal solution for high-rise residences.
We are uniquely positioned as the regional experts in roller shades, whether they be automated versions from Lutron or Crestron, or manuals from Hunter Douglas. Our automation background gives us the advantage of knowing how and where to run wires so you don’t need to be fumbling around with battery-powered options that are not well suited to this environment. In fact, our sister company KINETIQ.tech has wired many of the high-rises in Atlanta for shades and smart home automation, so you can trust that we are the authority in high-rise shading, bar none.
While not as perfectly suited to move up and out of the way of your views as well as roller shades, drapery tracks are one of the few other options that can cover the large expanses of windows. Our automated drapery tracks from Lutron and Crestron, or all-in-one solutions from Hunter Douglas such as Luminette or Skyline panels all can be configured to cover multiple floor to ceiling windows. All of these solutions will have stack back of the fabrics, however, so the larger the track, the more fabric will need to be stacked back when in the open position.
One tremendously effective option is to combine roller shades with draperies. If you desire room darkening at night but want to bring in natural light while protecting your finishes and artwork during the day, you can opt for sheer shades and blackout draperies or blackout shades and sheer draperies for the ultimate luxury.
We have a solution for nearly every unique situation a high-rise residence can present. Whether you have a two-story room, angled walls, or an entire corner unit that needs to be shaded, our team of experts knows the ideal way of solving these difficult issues. We’ve literally installed thousands of shades in high-rises, so there isn’t any situation we haven’t thought of a unique solution for. Traditional window shading companies don’t have the technical expertise to hide your wires or to guarantee that everything will work as it should and because shading is not their forte, AV/automation companies don’t have enough experience to know the proper solution for every little detail.
